Embarking on his academic path, he charted his course at Dakota Wesleyan University. By 1970's close, he had clinched a Bachelor's degree, setting the stage for more incredible academic triumphs. The allure of further knowledge led him to the University of Maryland, where a Master's was procured in 1972. The literary zenith was realized at New York University, with a distinguished Ph.D. being added to his accolades by 1979. At the Community College of Philadelphia, his legacy indeed took shape. Over an astounding four-decade tenure, he molded minds and inspired generations. A notable feather in his cap was the transformative twelve years spent leading the Communications Department to newer horizons. While he crafted educational pathways, he also scribed his wisdom in "Understanding Communication." Now relished in its fourth edition, this seminal piece is a cornerstone for budding communicators in various academic halls. Yet, the story rests outside academia. Douglas's heart found a rhythm on the snowy slopes as he delved into snowboarding. Not just mastering it but sharing its joy as a revered instructor, echoing his inherent mentorship spirit. "Douglas B Hoehn of Wyckoff, New Jersey, is participating on a panel at the Revolutionary War annual convention at Williamsburg, Virginia, on March 15 and 16. Hoehn and other authorities will discuss "Was Benedict Arnold More A Hero or Traitor ."The panel will discuss Arnold's contributions to Ticonderoga, Valcor Island, and Saratoga. Also, there are possible reasons why he agreed with the British to surrender West Point and his military services to the Crown after he became a traitor to the American cause. Hoehn said, "Benedict Arnold is one of American history's most conflicted and misunderstood figures." The panel is open to all attendees at the convention and will be available on history channels as well." Dr Douglas B Hoehn, of Wyckoff, New Jersey, will be conducting a workshop for faculty at The Borough of Manhattan Community College this June at the main campus. Dr Hoehn recently completed an audit of the college’s Speech and Communication Departments where he focused on the College’s strengths and need with suggestions for improvement. This is one of many departments at colleges and universities Dr Hoehn has performed in his role as consultant. He has Masters Degree in Communications from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D from New York University.
